A fantastic initiative from Moreland Council....
Moreland City Council, Commuter Cycles and Lygon Cycles want to see more cyclists on the road this winter - and are working together to make it happen with a "Lights On Ride On" promotion campaign.
The end of Daylight Savings means its getting dark earlier. Its time to get visible - and that means looking at your lights, replacing the batteries and replacing lights that have seen better days. We want you to get new lights so you can enjoy riding all year round.
To really get you going, Commuter Cycles and Lygon Cycles are offering a hefty 20% discount on selected bike lights for the rest of April.
To take advantage of this offer simply print out the "Lights On Ride On" voucher and head to either Commuter Cycles and Lygon Cycles and get your lights.
When you buy your lights, drop your voucher and you will go in the running to win a $100 bicycle service (parts extra). Its just what you need to get your bike in tip-top condition
Upgrade your main bike. Put lights on the "project bike" you've got in the shed. Now there's no excuse to have a bike without lights. Vouchers are also available download from www.moreland.vic.gov.au and are in the Easter edition of the Moreland Leader (out on Monday 13 April).
Council staff will also be out at night during April offering tips to cyclists to help improve their visibility and handing out TravelSmart Maps.
See you on the road this winter.
