- $2.5 million from the Brumby Labor Government to redevelop Brunswick Baths
- Part of a $15 million facelift that will fix the pools, retain the toddler pool and expand the gym
- Will conserve water and lower emissions
I am pleased to announce that the Victorian Government is contributing $2.5 million towards the redevelopment of the Brunswick City Baths
Brunswick City Baths is one of the most important community facilities in Brunswick. It is used by everyone—young and old, healthy and infirm. And it has been this way for over ninety years
The Victorian Government’s contribution to the cost of redeveloping the Brunswick City Baths will ensure that it continues to serve the community for another ninety years.
The redevelopment will deliver a $15 million facelift that will:
- fix the pools
- retain the toddler pool
- dramatically expand active leisure spaces like the gym
…all while conserving water
and becoming Victoria’s first zero emission pool.
The Brumby Government is proud to support this project, which will meet the needs of Brunswick’s changing population. Funding for the project is through the 2008-09 Community Facility Funding Program – Better Pools Category.
The Brumby Government’s Better Pools program represents our commitment to increase the quality and range of aquatic facilities across the State. By providing better aquatic facilities, we are offering more opportunities for Victorians to lead active and healthy lifestyles – and swimming is a great way to do that.
We want all Victorians to get involved in sport and recreation, which is the cornerstone of our Go for your life
campaign.
Since 2000, the Victorian Government has invested more than $163 million through the Community Facilities Funding Program towards 1,700 projects
